  Ghorepani poonhill Trek in nepal Ghorepani-Poon Hill is one of the most famous,colorful and classic Trekking of Nepal. The Poon hill trek insides the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) offers stunning mountains panorama and sunrise view within one week trekking in Nepal. So, it is good idea for people to choose Poon hill trek who would not have the time for the longer trip in Nepal Himalayas. Our one week Nepal trek up to the Poon hill is the best view point for panoramic view of Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range and even attracting to visit Poon hill for those trekkers who have been trekking around Annapurna sanctuary trek, Annapurna circuit and Jomsom Muktinath trek. This is really best trekking and short trekking to see mountain range within short time. During the Poon hill trek you really can enjoy with panoramic view of 3 mountains range, up and down hill, walking through Nepalese village, passing biggest Rhododendrons forest and chance to encounter with many local ethnic groups from Annapurna region.

  Poon hill trek Nepal is located in the North West part of Pokhara city and start trek from Nayapul two hrs west drive from Pokhara Valley. The trek starts from Nayapul linked with highway to Baglung and then to Birethanthi, the permits check in point for Annapurna region. After Birethanthi we trek another 3 hrs to Tikhedhunga for overnight at teahouse with scenery of countryside of Nepal hilly region. Next day the trek follows the uphill through dense Rhododendrons forest and arrive beautiful next camp of Ghorepani. Next early morning hike lead up to Poon hill for our ultimate trekking point and continuing our trek via Ghandruk then Nayapul.Ghorepani Poon hill trek not only for mountains scenery and nature, is also provided opportunity to learn Magars and Gurungs culture and their living style. Magar is major ethnic group from Western region who has own dialect, culture and dress. Gurung is one of the people known as Gurkha soldier lives along the way place called Ghandruk, a modern village of Nepal has their own culture, where they have museum house to show their traditional property. This is best way to reach hilly region of Nepal to view close-up mountains, experience the live culture and tiny adventures within short timeframe.

Itinerary - Brief

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft).
Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing and Trek Preparation (1,300m/4,264ft).
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (958m), 5-6 hours drive.
Day 04: Drive Pokhara to Nayapul & trek to Tikhedhunga (1, 577m) 5 hours trek.
Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,800m.) 5- 6 hours trek.
Day 06: Early hike to Poon hill (3,200m.) & trek to Tadapani (2, 710m.) 5-6 hours trek.
Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandrung (1,940m.) 5 hours trek.
Day 08: Trek from Ghandrung to Naya Pul & drive to Pokhara (858m.)One hour drive & hours trek.
Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu and we go for a farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 10: Transfer to airport for final departure.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and trip start day 

When you are arrival in the Kathmandu airport (TIA) you will be welcomed by our Airport representative from Rising Himalaya Treks & Adventure. After completing your custom formalities in immigration, pick up your luggage and look for the airport representative who will show your name on the paper at arrival gate. Then you will be transfer to hotel. You can be fresh up and visit our office, can have half day sightsee and hang out as per your interest. In the evening our tour operator/ tour guide will explain about the program for trip. You can have a Nepalese meal and enjoy yourself.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing

After having your breakfast you will be taken to the Hindus pilgrimage place. First you will take to the Pashupatinath temple which is famous temple of the Hindus. There you can see many idols of Gods and Goddess. You can also see the Sadhu Baba with orange dress sitting near the cremating place of the holy Bagmati River. There you can see the monkey running up and down and giggling with each other. You can see the many statue of the Shiva where the Hindu people worship into that.

After Pashupatinath temple you will taken to the Boudhanath stupa which is famous for the Buddhism. All the tourists are keenly interested because of great peace with cultural things. You can find many traditional handicraft things as well. Inside the Boudhanath you can see the colorful flags hanging all around. Then you will take to the Bhaktapur place which is the place of the ancient kings. There you can find the Nepalese art and craft. That place was mostly covered with the Newari people then we will take for your lunch at Bhaktapur restaurant. Return to hotel and prepare for next day leaving and reminder relax in the hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Early in the morning we take the regular tourist bus heading towards Pokhara passing through the natural beauty or scenery of hills, rivers, local region and so on. Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourist’s paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritages sites such as lakes, caves, temples and beautiful mountains .Pokhara is the starting point for some of the most famous treks in Nepal and there are also some plenty of short walks and day trip that can be made around the valley. You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes (with extra cost Kathmandu to Pokhara one way flight cost US$ 102.00 P/P). Stay and overnight in hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,460m/4,788ft

After breakfast you will taken to the Tikhedhunga. On the way you can witness the magnificent fishtail, Annapurna south and Annapurna II along with other mountains and you can also view the whole Pokhara valley. From here you begin on foot, to Birethanti which is the main entrance of Ghorepani trek. Then the trial climbs gently up to Tikhedhunga along the bank of the stream with the beautiful scenery of the natural waterfalls and local countryside which is amazingly mysterious. Stay and overnight at teahouse in Tikhedhunga.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2,772m/9,092ft)

Wake up about 6.30 am in the morning. After having the light breakfast we move forward on trek. The trial descends for a moment and we meet the river which we need to cross it. Then we need to climb for Ulleri which is the largest village of the Magar community. Now the route ascends to Banthanti from where you can monitor picturesque view of Annapurna south and the natural green scenery of the local area. From Banthanti the route commence through a dense forests of Rhododendron, magnolia and oak tree to Ghorepani which takes about 3 hours. It takes about 6 hours in total and we overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 06: Hike to Poon hill (3210m/10,528ft) & trek to Tadapani (2660m/8,724ft)

Early morning wake up and trek up to the Poon hill which is surrounded by national flower of Nepal called Rhododendron. After walking about 45 minutes you will get to Poon hill which is not only famous view point of sunrise and sunset for also famous for best Annapurna Himalayas panorama. You can see whole Annapurna range from Poon hill and you can take the magnificent picture of the Himalayas and the countryside. After your thousand clicks of picture and breathtaking Himalayan panorama, reluctantly we will decent back to Ghorepani and get breakfast and then our trek headed to Tadapani, a place is surrounded by rhododendron forests so you will get an opportunity to see langue monkey. You can have pleasure from fabulous sunrise over fishtail, Gangapurna and Annapurna range. Stay and overnight in Tadapani.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk (1,926m/6,317ft)

The day starts with short downhill. Leaving Tadapani we descend steeply through the forests and the trial eases as we reach Ghandruk which is the village of the Gurung people, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal having their own dialect, typical culture, costume and life style. The village is possibly the popular internal tourist destination that offers the beautiful mountain views and having easy connection with Pokhara. We overnight at guest house.

Day 08: Trek back to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara

Ghandruk is a huge and culturally rich village especially habitat by Gurung community. At this point you can see the old Gurung museum and mainly the lovely scenery of Annapurna south, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and the original natural beauty. After the trial descend down to the Nayapul which takes about 4 hours from there. From Nayapul we will drive to Pokhara where we will stay overnight. There are cultural dance organized by some restaurant, where you can join to have your choice of dinner yourself.

Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu

Early in the morning we transfer to tourist bus station and held on to the Kathmandu valley. While your journey you better to hold on the left side of the vehicle to enjoy the sceneries through the route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu after 7 hrs drive, you will be then transferred to your hotel. Evening we will take you farewell dinner at Rum Doodle restaurant in Thamel and enjoy the last day dinner with company member. Stay and overnight in Kathmandu hotel.

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu

Transfer to the airport for our onward flight home sweet home. Our office representatives will escort you to the airport for your connecting flight home. It’s been wonderful meeting you & knowing you all of these weeks. We are doubly sure you’ve had the vacation of a lifetime & we hope you will pass on your experiences to the generations to come.   Trekking in Nepal is one of the most popular holiday activities in Nepal. There are different types of trekking in Nepal. Some trekking destinations are easy and lower elevation trekking. It is not necessary to have well equipment for Easy and lower elevation trekking (below 4000m). You may have compulsory and basic equipment will be enough for you.
Some trekking destinations are challenging and higher elevation (above 4000m) .you should have well equipment to do these types of trekking. Here are some recommended Equipments List for trekking in Nepal Himalayas.

4 Passport Size Photos: 2 photos will be collected at Kathmandu airport as well as a $25 visa fee (no change will be given, and the dollar bills should not be old and worn). The other two photos will be collected for trekking permits
TRAVEL INSURANCE: It is highly recommended that you take out a personal travel insurance policy, which contains emergency evacuation protection (helicopter rescue) and for repatriation in case of an accident.
