Trip Overview

The Jomolhari Trekking leads to Jangothang, the Jomolhari Base Camp. With altitude differences of 2300m and nearly 5000m (lowest and highest point of the route) it offers a wide range of landscape and fauna and flora. The highlight of this trek is the spectacular view of Mount Jomolhari (7315m). This trek requires that trekkers are in very good physical condition as it includes many walking hours and the crossing of two high mountain passes.

Along the trek you will also visit some of the Bhutan's awe- inspiring natural heritages and glimpse snoe clad mountain peaks. The entire trekking package will be full board supported basis with as necessary logistic supplies. The trekking route follows further of Paro and reaches height of Yali La pass (alt. 4820m) along the journey.

Jomolhari Trek beginning from Paro, the first three days of this trek follows the Paro Chhu valley to Jangothang base camp.After Sightseeing in Paro, the trek starts fromDrugyal Dzong. From there you will have a stunning view of 7513m Mount Jomolhari. The next day`s trail passes through high pastureland, and after crossing the highest point Nyile La Pass (4890m), you arrive at Lingshi which is the highest settlement in the north. En route relish the startling views of Jichu Drake (6989m) and Tshrim Khang (6789m). Lingshi Dzong perched on 600ft hilltop offers commanding views of the valleys beneath.

Day 01: Arrive in paro and transfer to hotel (2,230m).

Day 02: Sightseeing in Paro and trek preparation.

Day 03: Trek begins Paro to Shana (2,870m) – 6 hours walking.

Day 04: Trek Shana to Soi Thangthangkha (3,610m) – 8 hours walking.

Day 05: Trek Soi Thangthangkha to Jangothang (4,090m) – 5 hours walking.

Day 06: Exploration to Tshophu and Jomolhari Glacier.

Day 07: Trek Jangothang to Lingshi (4,010m) via Nyele-la Pass (4,890m) – 6 hours walking.

Day 08: Trek Lingshi to Shodu (4,110m) via Yele-la Pass (4,800m) – 8 hours walking.

Day 09: Trek Shodu to Barshon (3,680m) – 6 hours walking.

Day 10: Trek Barshong to Dolamkencho (3,430m) – 6 hours walking.

Day 11: Trek Dolamkencho to Dodena: 4 hours walking & drive to Thimphu (2,330m)

Day 12: Sightseeing in Thimphu and drive to Paro – 2 hours drive.

Day 13: Departure back to Kathmandu.
